Crit One Podcast FAQ
What is the Crit One Podcast?
The Crit One Podcast is a laid-back, RPG-themed podcast that focuses on playing various role playing games, specifically Dungeons and Dragons. We also create role playing games to try out, as well as explain our opinions and stances on current subjects in the RPG field.
What does "Crit One" Mean?
Crit One is an abbreviation for Critical One. In D&D a critical hit (20) is always a success and a critical fail (1) is always a fail. The nickname for a Critical Hit is usually Nat Twenty and fail Crit One.
How Often Are Episodes Released?
We try to release one or two new episodes weekly. They will be released mainly on Saturdays. However, episodes are not guaranteed to be released weekly. We recommend becoming an email subscriber to immediately know when new episodes are out.
Do I Have to Know About Role Playing Games to Listen to the Podcast?
Of course not! The content within our episodes is specifically targeted to fit the needs of both RPG enthusiasts and beginners. Heck, even some of us are learning as you are! (Cough, Cough, Owen and Lucas)
Why is the audio quality so poor?
If you have trouble listening because of our cringe-worthy audio, you are likely listening to our first few episodes. However, one you reach episodes in the double digits, the quality improves dramatically.
How Can I Join the Podcast?
We enjoy having listeners participate in episodes, but it is often difficult to achieve. Since voice call programs like Skype can produce poor quality over long distances, it may take awhile to arrange something that is both beneficial to you and us. However, we are always interested, and contact us if you wish to be featured in an episode.
Where is Episode One?
Thanks to Rory's brilliant technology skills, episode one was lost to the internet and now hides between the void of cat videos and subreddits. If we do ever figure out how to recover it, it will certainly be uploaded.
If I wanted to Start a Podcast, How Should I go About it?
Creating a podcast from the start is relatively simple. All you need is something to record with (phone, mic) and an idea. Record a few episodes about your topic, then upload it to some sort of medium, such as a SoundCloud or your own website (Which Owen can help create, contact for more info).
